GSI Ranks as Second Largest Overall Provider of E-Commerce Services

GSI Commerce Inc. (Nasdaq: GSIC) is the second most frequently selected e-commerce technology and services provider across multiple categories, according to research published by Internet Retailer in its most recent Top 500 Guide. Out of the more than 500 services and solution providers mentioned in the guide, GSI is listed as the provider of choice more often than all but one other company – nearly 200 times across the 18 e-commerce applications and service categories researched. The company listed most often is Web analytics provider Omniture Inc., which has been an alliance partner of GSI since 2005. The Top 500 Guide, which is published annually, profiles and provides comprehensive analysis of the nation’s largest 500 online retailers.

According to Internet Retailer, in aggregate the Top 500 retailers accounted for a total of $101.7 billion, of the nation’s $166 billion in online retail sales in 2007 and grew their online sales by 21.6 percent. GSI provides services and solutions in nearly every one of the 18 categories measured by the guide. Of these categories, GSI is named the leader or runner up in six categories based on frequency of use among the Top 500 online retailers. They are: content management, customer relationship management, customer service, fulfillment, order management, and site design.

The top three e-commerce application and service providers will be listed by Internet Retailer in its August issue. Published by Chicago-based Vertical Web Media LLC, Internet Retailer is a monthly national business magazine, Web site conference and directory that serve the retailing community.
