Comcast acquires DailyCandy for 125M.

Comcast Corp. has added to its Comcast Interactive Media division by acquiring DailyCandy, which has a fashion-and-lifestyle daily e-mail service with 2.5 million subscribers and a Web site, the cable giant said.

Philadelphia-based Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA, CMCSK) paid about $125 million to The Pilot Group equity fund for DailyCandy.

The free e-mail includes localized entertainment, beauty and other features for 12 U.S. cities, including Philadelphia, and London.

Redlasso Suspends Blogger Access to Search Engine

On Friday, Redlasso shut out bloggers from it excellent video search engine. This move occurred due to increasing pressure and lawsuits from a few near sighted corporations.

Rather than come up with a mutually beneficial way to work together, the networks decided that a lawsuit might be more effective.

RedLasso Ignores Cease and Desist

Redlasso has decided to not pull content from their website in response to a recent cease and desist letter. In a letter to the legal councils of five broadcasters, RedLasso has indicated it will continue to make it's content available to bloggers using it's platform. They are doing this while they continue to find a way to secure proper permissions from the broadcasters.

Redlasso pulls in 24 Million Viewers in April

According to website NewTeeVee, RedLasso, had 24 million unique visitors in April. And I don’t mean pre-launch like Gmail-is-still-in-beta pre-launch, I mean you can’t actually get in through the front door of the site if you aren’t explicitly given special access. Only 18,000 people are part of its private beta.
